News Submission Instructions

We realize you’re busy, and so this news submission form is designed to be as brief as possible. Here’s what the form asks for:

Headline

Please Make Sure Headline is Title Case and does not contain any special characters (such as smart quotes, smart apostrophes, trademark symbols or emdashes). A press release with an UPPERCASE headline will be forwarded to our editors as promptly as any other, but it is unlikely to be published online.

Description

The description is simply a paragraph-length synopsis of your press release; you may create one yourself or copy a standout paragraph from the main body of the release.

Body

The body of your press release is:

  1. The full text of your press release   or
  2. A summary of your press release or précis with a link back to your website

URLs in the body of your news story will be automatically hyperlinked, no HTML markup (<a></a>) is necessary.

Host of Full Text

This is where your news story in its entirety will be displayed.

More specifically, the Host of Full Text is the OpenSystems Publishing website that you suggest the full text of your press release should be displayed when its headline is clicked from a newsfeed. So this is not to be confused with the "technologies to which your news article pertains", which determine where your headline and description are syndicated, of which you may choose more than one.

This where (what type of pages) your headline will be published.

News submitted to OpenSystems Publishing must pertain very specifically to at least one of the technologies below:

Category

The category field offers the following choices:

  • Industry News
    General news about vendors, or a technology related story
  • Technology Partnerships
    News regarding companies forming partnerships related to a new technological advancement, e.g., they will be utilizing each others products and/or services to offer a new product/service to the market
  • Mergers & Acquisitions
    Specifically, company buyouts (acquisitions) and mergers
  • Consortiums & Working Groups
    News related to a consortium or working group project, or announcement of a new alliance/consortium or working group
  • Conferences & Awards
    News specifically about conferences and industry-related awards; could include contest news and announcements
  • People
    Promotions, new hires, etc.
  • Media & Education
    Free catalogs, new Web sites, free CD-ROMs, books and publications, etc.; also news regarding training seminars and educational offerings related to the industry to the industry
  • Contracts
    New contracts or news related to the fullfillment of contractual obligations. I.e., one company awarding another company with an order to develop, manufacture, or design a new product (or enhance an existing product).
  • Standard Certifications and References
    News related to the development and execution of new technological standards and certifications
